On 6 March 2026, a solemn ceremony was held to mark the official opening of the Scientific and Innovation Technopark in Jizzakh, bringing together senior representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Jizzakh regional administration, as well as rectors and representatives of 19 Hungarian universities, several Uzbek higher education institutions, and a wide range of industrial companies, start-ups, and entrepreneurs from across Uzbekistan. The project has been implemented with the valuable support of Óbuda University of Hungary.
The establishment of the technopark represents an important step in strengthening the innovation ecosystem of Uzbekistan and further deepening Uzbek-Hungarian cooperation in higher education, science and technology.
In addition to serving as a centre for research and innovation, the technopark is expected to function as a dynamic platform where scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and investors can work together, transforming scientific ideas into market-ready solutions.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Hungarian side emphasised that Uzbek partners would have numerous opportunities to engage actively in the technopark’s activities, including investment in innovative projects and academic collaboration.
The opening of the Jizzakh Scientific and Innovation Technopark therefore stands as a symbol of the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary in the fields of education, science and innovation.
