Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has extended zero customs duties on the import of 82 types of industrial raw materials and semi-finished goods.
According to the Ministry of Justice, citing a presidential decree signed on 19 January, the zero import duty will remain in force until 1 January 2027.
The measure covers a broad range of products mainly used in the chemical, polymer, and textile industries, including basic chemicals, dyes and pigments, polymers and plastics, fiberglass, lumber, filter paper, and various technical and textile materials. Officials say the extension is intended to lower production costs and support domestic processing industries.
The zero-duty regime was first introduced in October 2021, expired on 1 January 2024, and has now been restored and extended for several more years.
The approved list includes items such as castor oil, sodium and potassium compounds, synthetic dyes and pigments, textile chemicals and auxiliaries, plastics and polymers, synthetic and natural fibers and fabrics, fiberglass products, wood-based materials, batteries, loudspeakers, and certain industrial components.
